What was your involvement on this project?
I designed the dust jacket artwork of this book and delivered press files to the printer. I did not typeset the interior.
What was fun about this project?
Working with such a colorful theme: hot air balloons! The Point of No Return is a navigation term that basically means the point in the journey has been reached (or exceeded) where it becomes essential (or at the very least more practical) to continue to the end, rather than returning to the point of departure.
I incorporated embossing and spot varnish finishes into the design. On the front cover the title and elements of the hot air balloon were highlighted in glossy varnish. This was replicated on the interior flap where the hot air ballon appears again as well as the author's bio photo.
